Beneath the bustle of Siam Paragon shopping centre lies a different side of Bangkok: SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World. Its aquarium zones take visitors from colourful reefs and jellyfish displays to sharks, sea turtles and penguins. It is an engaging stop for families, couples and anyone who would like to spend part of a Bangkok day learning about aquatic life. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
A brief history
The aquarium began life as Siam Ocean World, opening within Siam Paragon in the mid-2000s. It later became part of the international SEA LIFE family and took the name SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World. Its place in the city has remained distinctive: visitors can step from one of Bangkok’s busiest shopping districts into an underwater exhibition.
Where is it?
SEA LIFE is on the B1–B2 levels of Siam Paragon Shopping Centre, 991 Rama I Road, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330. Follow the signs inside the mall towards the B1 entrance near the food court. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
Getting there locally and internationally
From within Bangkok, take the BTS Skytrain to Siam station and follow the signs towards Siam Paragon; SEA LIFE’s directions point visitors towards Exit 5. You can also arrive by bus, taxi or ride-hailing car. If you are already exploring Siam Square, MBK or CentralWorld, the aquarium is within walking distance. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
From abroad, fly into Bangkok via Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) or Don Mueang Airport (DMK). Travel from the airport to your hotel or into central Bangkok, then connect to Siam station by local transport. Check which airport your flight uses when planning your transfer.
Opening hours
SEA LIFE’s current opening-hours page lists 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. daily, with last entry at 7:00 p.m. The attraction recommends allowing at least 90 minutes; around two hours is a comfortable starting point if you want to browse at your own pace. Check the live opening-hours page shortly before your visit, as schedules can change. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
Planning note: An older answer on SEA LIFE’s help page still gives a 7:00 p.m. closing time. The dedicated opening-hours page currently gives 8:00 p.m., so it is the better page to consult when choosing your arrival time. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
Entry fees and tickets
Admission is paid, and prices depend on the ticket type, booking date and available offers. SEA LIFE’s ticket page currently advertises a single child ticket, ages 2–11, from ฿799 online, compared with a listed ฿1,199 on-site child price. That is a starting child price, not a universal admission fee; select your date and visitor categories on the official ticket page to see the price for your group. Combination tickets and added experiences may cost more. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
Booking online in advance can help you secure your preferred date and avoid the ticket-purchase queue, although a security queue may still apply. Check what your ticket includes before paying: experiences such as the glass-bottom boat or a behind-the-scenes tour may be sold separately or included only in particular packages. Making the most of your visit
Give yourself time to move through the different habitats. The coral reefs, ocean tunnels, Shark Walk and Penguin Ice Playground offer very different views of aquatic animals. If feeding talks interest you, check the day’s programme when you arrive; times and availability can vary. Families with young children may find it helpful to choose one or two favourite zones to revisit rather than rushing through every display. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
Dos and don’ts
Do:
- Book for your intended date and check the ticket’s terms and included activities.
- Allow enough time to finish your visit before closing.
- Keep children close and follow staff instructions around exhibits and experiences.
- Check signs before photographing or filming; personal photography is subject to the attraction’s rules.
- Ask staff about accessibility or activity restrictions if someone in your group needs assistance. SEA LIFE states that visitors under 14 must be accompanied by an adult over 18. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
Don’t:
- Tap on viewing panels, climb barriers or enter restricted areas.
- Use flash where it could disturb animals or where signs prohibit it.
- Assume that a general admission ticket includes every experience.
- Photograph other guests or staff without respecting their privacy.
- Arrive after the stated last-entry time. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
SEA LIFE can fit neatly into a day around Siam, particularly when you want an indoor activity between other Bangkok sights. Check the current animal exhibits and event schedule before you go, then give yourself the freedom to linger at the displays that capture your attention.
